Question : How to set up TCP_IP printing in XP and 2000 for DI-524UP?


Step 1 Click on Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > Add New Printer.

 

Step 2Click on Next

 

Step 3 Select Local printer attached to this computer, Do not check the ‘Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer’ and click on Next.

 

 

Step 4 Select Create a new port, Choose Standard TCP/IP Port from the dropdown menu. Click Next.

Step 5 Click Next on Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard.

 

Step 6 Printer name or IP Address key in 192.168.0.1 (by default), port name will be lp1 (by default).

 

 

Step 7 if you not sure on the port name, please go to the DI-524UP router’s configuration page and check under Status > Printer Info. Check what is the Queue Name. The Port Name should be the same as the Queue Name. (Please change the Port Name to “IP_192.168.0.1” if lp1 does seem to work).

 

Step 8 Select Custom radio button. Type in:

 

a. Port Name (which is the same as Queue Name eg. lp1) and the IP address 192.168.0.1.

b. Select Protocol as LPR

c. Queue Name

d. Check on the LPR Byte Counting Enabled

e. Click on OK

 

 

Step 9 Select Printer model and click Next and just follow the instruction.

 

Step 10 You are now able to start using your printer.
